After years of campaign, the world finally gets to see Zack Snyder’s vision of Justice League. Zack Snyder’s Justice League premiered on 18 March on Hbo Max & it is getting applauded by critics & fans. Zack Snyder has cleverly divided this four hours movie into several chapters. It makes the film more interesting as before the next chapter starts, you can take a break, go to the kitchen & bring popcorn. This film obviously has lots of surprises for the viewers from the start to finish. However, the last part is an unnamed chapter termed “EPILOGUE”. It undoubtedly has one of the most exciting parts of the entire film & that is Jared Leto’s Joker. “KNIGHTMARE”
KNIGHTMARE Scene Explained
[Warning: SPOILER ALERT]
We get to see an odd team comprising of Batman (Ben Affleck), Joker (Jared Leto), Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello) & Mera (Amber Heard) in the Knightmare scene, a future world ruled by evil Superman. We’ve already seen it in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) in one of Batman’s visions.
From the discussion, it is apparent that they have lost people in their life. Mera says that she is going to kill “him” for what he had done to Arthur, as she strikes her trident on the ground. This team does not have Arthur which means he’s dead & that she is here for revenge. But revenge from whom? It is Superman. In the movie previously when Justice League was in the Krypton ship to resurrect Superman, Cyborg (Ray Fisher) had a vision of a world ruled by the alliance of Evil Superman & Darkseid. There’s another scene that Clark Kent is mourning with a dead body in his arm.
It must be the dead Lois Lane. In the comic “Batman: The Killing Joke”, Joker kills her in front of Superman resulting in him going insane, deciding to rule the world free of crime. The Knightmare scene is set in the future in the world ruled by Clark where he must have destroyed the entire Justice League– in Cyborg’s vision it has been shown that Kilowog is lying dead on the destroyed Justice League monument & Superman flying in distance with Batman’s (Ben Affleck) mask.
Superman after losing his love is susceptible to Darkseid’s Anti-Life Equation. Hence, allying himself with the forces of Apokolips & becoming a tyrannical, dark ruler of the planet. As a result, Batman forms the team that we see in the “EPILOGUE” of Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League has all these interesting plots that make it so interesting. But till now we don’t know if the Universe will continue or not but we dearly hope that it happens. Maybe, in future, if WB takes initiative then we might get to see all these in proper movies.
