Santhanam, one of the most popular comedy icons returned to form in ‘Dhillukku Dudu 2’ following an array of failed movies. The latest film A1 could continue his success by incorporating light-dark comedy elements.
Divya (Tara Alisha Berry) is brahmin girl with a father who (Yatin Karyekar) is well-known to the whole city as a good person. In order to marry in accordance with her father’s wishes, she mistakenly believes the local male Saravanan (Santhanam) as brahmin. She not only proposes, but she also kisses him upon first sight. After discovering the truth, she splits up, however when Santa helps her father save his life, she reunites with her father, but he insults her father and mother (Meera Krishnan as well as M S Bhaskar) and exiles them from the home. Divya is then telling Saravanan that if he can prove she is right that the pious father committed a wrong act, she will be able to marry him, but in the meantime she should not forget about her. Saravanan in a drunken party informs his pals Lollu Sabha Maran Thangadurai as well as Redin Kingsley the demise of her father’s daughter is the only option for him to get her. Yatin Karyekar gets killed, and the next thing that happens is a hilarious journey to the end.
A1 Movie Review
The most enjoyable thing about “A1 Movie “ is the fact that Santhanam returns in his youthful self without the heroic punch lines or unwelcome fight routines and songs which were evident in his failed films. Santhanam not only takes on other actors, but performs a lengthy drunken monologue which is funny and changes the story from light comedy to dark comedy. He takes on the entire film particularly in the second half, when it is his turn to conceal the truth and ensure that his fans get their worth. Tara Alisha Berry passes off as a brahmin girl, and has intimacy scenes with Santa that would work with younger viewers. Mottai Rajendran is in a scene which he has crafted as a blackmailer, and does it with aplomb as M.S.Bhaskar, Lollu Sabha Maran, Thangadurai and Redin Kingsley ensure that they keep the crowd smiling throughout. Lollu Sabha Seshu’s character as an drunken alcoholic has the funniest moment of the film, when he murders an individual in the finale. Yatin Karyekar, the renowned Bollywood character actor brings his contribution to the film by delivering a great performance. be on the lookout to see his transform scenes. Veteran action star Saikumar is seen as a tough cop in the film. His character that has a fun twist in the final.
What is the most effective part of “A1 Movie ” is the raucous moments in the house of the heroine following the murder, and some twists that occur in the characters from Yatin Karyekar Mottai Rajendran as well as Saikumar. There are some truly amazing sequences that make the house fall down particularly the battle of the songs with Santhanam and his heroine Santhanam’s drunken ramblings in the terrace, and the opening sequence of the Lollu Sabha group at the mechanic shop.
The downside is that the script doesn’t have an easy flow, and the sequences are not well-organized most times. The opening half of the film moves at moderate pace with only a handful of funny moments that truly earn the smile. While a comedy that’s dark needs no logic, the love scenes would have made for more inventive than the stale style that has been which is here adapted
