Jhund is an action movie which has been in the making for quite a
while. The film that stars Amitabh Bachchan has been released today
, and we,;ll be watching how it goes.
Story:
The film is based on the real life of professional footballer Vijay Barse
who is played in the film by Amitabh Bachchan. He was an ex-sports
instructor from Pune who started an NGO called Slum Soccer. The
aim for Slum Soccer is to rehabilitate children from lower castes by
preventing their drug use as well as other illegal activities. Vijay is the
one who brings them to church, and then creates the football team at
an event that is geared towards children living in the slums. What did
he do to accomplish this? What is the truth.
Plus Points:
Amitabh Bachchan has been an extremely effective an football
coach. The method of identifying the top talent, and providing them
with coaching is evident by the well-known actor. The manner Big B
conveys the emotion of his life and gives confidence to his children is
top-quality.
A single of the biggest positives of the film are the actors who appear
in behind. The actors and children playing the slum dwellers are
excellent. Their make-up and the way they convey the emotions of joy,
pain and sorrow takes up the majority of the screen and looks
fantastic.
Minus Points:
Amitabh Bachchan has the role of a soccer trainer, however there
aren,;t any scenes of him playing football, which is to be a little
extravagant for the context of a sports drama which is based on the
game of soccer. The film is likely to have predictable emotional
moments in the second part in the same way that dramas about sports
of this type have been released earlier in time.
The film deals with a tension-filled subject, but it isn,;t filled with the
exciting elements required for these kinds of movies. There was lots
of room in the narrative to cut however the film does not address
commercial aspects. The anticipated competition isn,;t portrayed, this
is disappointing.
Technical Aspects:
Jhund,;s camerawork is strong because all the slum setting are
presented in a solid manner. Dialogues composed by Big B are good
and create positive emotions. Editing isn,;t great however the BGM
composed by Ajay Atul is awe-inspiring. The production quality is
impressive. It is a great film by the director Nagraj Manjule. Manjule
made history with Sairat through his film Sairat which was filmed in
Marathi. Manjule has chosen the perfect story, but the narration was
monotonous style and did not show any distinctive aspects.
Verdict:
Overall Jhund is a heartfelt film and is at the right spot in terms of
story. Amitabh Bachchan is equally captivating in his role however,
too much drama ruins the pleasure. Some more thrilling scenes of the
game could have made the film more entertaining. If you like sports
dramas, you should consider giving this movie a shot.
