Rai, and made through Zee Studios, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films. The script composed by the duo of Himanshu Sharma, Kanika Dhillon is based on the bonding, love and bonding between sister-brother. Raksha Bandhan stars Akshay Kumar as well as Bhumi Pednekar. Also, Sahejmeen Kaur Deepika Khanna Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth, who play Kumar’s sisters. The film is scheduled to release theatrically on 11 August 2022..

The plot of Raksha Bandhan is written by director Aanand L. Rai, who is a frequent writer for Himanshu Sharma, and Kanika Dhillon, who co-wrote the script. The story revolves around the relationship between siblings and brothers The film was officially released on the 3rd of August in 2020 to commemorate the celebration the celebration of Raksha Bandhan. The lead actor Akshay Kumar has stated his belief that Raksha Bandhan was the fastest film he’s ever made in his career dedicating the movie to sister Alka Hiranandani. The film is produced jointly through Rai, Hiranandani and Zee Studios.

Akshay Kumar was selected to play the male role and it’s his second time working together with Rai in post Atrangi Re (2021). On June 9, 2021 Kumar confirmed that Bhumi Pednekar will play the female leading lady. On the 21st of June (when filming began) the whole cast consisting comprised of Sahejmeen Kaur Deepika Khanna Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth was revealed.

The film’s initial shooting began on the 21st of June in 2021. The film was completed on the streets of Delhi the 12th of October the 12th of October in 2021.

The film was originally planned to release worldwide on November 5, 2021, to celebrate Diwali However, the release was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic that caused delays in the pre-production process and other important projects. The film is scheduled to be released theatrically the 11 August 2022.. The trailer for the film premiered on YouTube on June 21, 2022.
