A suggestion for those who are exhausted and have been sifting through streaming sites at late at night, looking for an intriguing suspenseful thriller that has a bizarre plot , and possibly getting lost among like titles
Watcher tells the story of a young woman in Romania being followed by a creepy neighbor. Stalker is about a young man in Los Angeles being followed by an unsettling driver of a ride-share. The film is dark, artistic, and is dark and moody in its look. Stalker is quite different however, it’s not actually.
This is a wonderful basic, simple horror.
The film stars Vincent Van Horn as Andy the drummer. Andy has to quit the ruins of a romantic relationship as well as Texas in order to move up his possessions and pet to move towards L.A. He can find an apartment in a terrible location, and organizes tutoring opportunities and is soon able to meet a beautiful young woman. When they arrive back at her home, they send her a message to ask for a car.
Driver is extremely helpful. He’s actually extremely nice.
A couple of hours later, she text Andy asking for a date. Then he text him another time, asking why there’s no interest. Then texting him back with accusations, threats to hurt feelings.
This is the point at which things begin to get quite weird.
Van Horn makes Andy into an instantly recognizable character. Van Horn is charming and convincing, while also playing the person who makes you laugh. Michael Joplin has a weirdly intense intensity in his character in the role of the stalker. Christine Ko suggests there’s more to Andy’s love story than a gorgeous face also. Antonio Cisneros’ cinematography is amazing, with a smooth transition between sun-drenched California street scenes and dark , dim rooms lit by laptops and phones.
The only problem about the documentary is initially, the plot does not seem to be sufficient. It then becomes way too much.
If the plot’s premise is obvious, it’s as well limiting. The stalker follows Andy all over the place while he uses his computer and mobile phone. He changes his bank accounts as well as his business while Andy protests in a ridiculous manner. It’s a challenge not only to him but for the viewers too. This has been seen before, mostly as an Lifetime film that has a title such as My Stalker Ex.
When the movie draws nearer to its end The plot is then rewritten in the hope of being more than a simple film about a guy with a crush. However, the twists are only adding confusion, and certain “revelations” that don’t make sense. It’s not an appropriate idea to question the reasoning behind the story after it’s over but you should not pick the pieces off while the film is playing.
The film is fantastic, and the three lead characters are all fascinating and there’s a plethora of surprising small unexpected moments. (And there’s an alert for spoilers! great thing for dog lovers is that your dog will not be killed. ) Everyone could have done better with this movie. But if you’re seeking a few hours of fun, it can be a lot better
