WandaVision episode 9, the finale of the nine-week long show ended on 5 March on Disney+ & Disney + Hotstar. Although the show gained excellent reviews with the arrival of each episode the end was a bit unsatisfying for fans. As the MCU fans expected a lot when they saw Pietro in the show that made us think that this might be a clue to X-Men Universe in MCU. Or even at least a scene with an Avenger preferably, Dr. Strange will enter the screen to awe us. But nothing much happened. The saddest part is when episode 9 revealed the true identity of Quicksilver who is not Evan Peters’ Quicksilver but merely a resident of Westview named Ralph Bohner. So till now, the X-Men entry in MCU is uncertain. “WandaVision Episode 9 Post-Credit Scenes”
However, the WandaVision episode 9 ended with 2 post-credit scenes that might lead way to future projects MCU Phase 4. This article explains the post-credit scenes & will contain spoilers.
WARNING: SPOILERS ALERT
The finale ended as Wanda Maximoff(Elizabeth Olsen) met Monica Rambeau(Teyonah Parris) & told her, “I don’t understand this power but I will”. She left New Jersey for good while the whole resident stares at her.
First Credit Scene
The first post-credit shows FBI Agent Jimmy Woo (played by Randal Park) coordinating the investigation in Westview after Wanda flew away leaving the town. Monica Rambeau greets her from behind. They wonder about Darcy Lewis’ (played by Kat Dennings) location. We also see Tyler Hayward (played by Josh Stamberg) getting arrested as Monica told Jimmy to thank Lewis later as earlier she had hacked the S.W.O.R.D server that played some role in bringing him down. He is getting arrested as by the end episode he got crazy trying to defeat Wanda for which he created a new Vision and instigated the attack on her. He also fired shots at the twins who are saved by Monica.
After that, a female FBI agent calls Monica & said she is being asked for in theatre where she realizes the agent to be a member of the shape-shifting alien race Skrull. Skrull was first introduced in Captain Marvel(2019). Anyway she says to Monica that “I was sent by an old friend of your mother” and that she needs to come now to outer space as “he” wants to meet her. Here “he” is probably referred to Talos the Untamed.
This scene with Skrull members clearly suggests that we might see Monica in the next Captain Marvel movie possibly when it will go under production.
Second Credit Scene
The last 1 min post-credit is a little bizarre. As the camera pulls into a remote cabin in rural mountain scape, with Wanda Maximoff sitting on the porch in a household dress with a cup of coffee maybe. She gets up & enters her house to refill the mug maybe when a continuous camera shot takes us through a dark passage into her darkroom. There we see by the bed, Elizabeth Olsen in Full Scarlett Witch form floating in mid-air in some kind of a spell. She is examining Darkhold- the book that previously Agatha mentioned herein in this episode.
It looks like she is learning more spells as she has cloned herself. Suddenly we see her getting interrupted by the scream of her twins pleading for help. But how is that possible? In the end, Wanda destroyed the hex & with that her creations- Vision, Billy & Tommy vanished too. Then what are they trying to imply? Do they still exist in any other dimension? Or is it a reference to Dr. Strange Multiverse’s story?
One thing Marvel made clear that there will be no WandaVision Season 2. That means surely Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Scarlett Witch in Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness that will release in March 2022 is said to be a horror-themed story. Fans might have been disappointed with the finale end but you can’t disagree on the fact that somehow the show’s post-credit scene together with the character of Agatha Harkness as a ‘witch’ gives solid reference to Dr. Strange world of wizards in MCU Phase 4.
