WandaVision episode 8 was quite interesting & a lot of revelations happened there. This episode did exposition behind many questions that the audience had since its release.
WandaVision Episode 8 Story
[SPOILER ALERT] WandaVision episode 7 “Breaking the Fourth Wall” introduced us to the real face of Agatha Harkness, who’s a sinister witch. The last episode ended with her & Wanda Maximoff’s face off. While this one started showing a little bit of Agatha’s past life when she belonged in a coven. She’s captured by the members of stealing some kind of magic where she ends up killing her mother & the coven members with her superior dark magic.
A lot was done to kill Agatha(Kathryn Hahn) who’s a witch; I didn’t know it takes so much to kill a witch. You either use a knife or set the individual’s body on fire- that’s what concept Hollywood implanted. But hey, it’s Marvel so obviously we get to see extraordinary CGI energy beam flowing all around. So now, a witch is introduced in Marvel Universe and with Wanda & Doctor Strange, the Studio can have a separate phase of wizards.
Wanda vs Agatha
Agatha, who is now the strongest of both wants to know the root of Wanda’s power behind creating this hex. Basically, she needs the knowledge behind such immense magic. She uses her magic to revisit every checkpoint of Maximoff’s life & knowing the pain & loss she had throughout. From losing his home, parents, his Pietro & then his love, Vision. So devastated she was that out of grief she consumed an entire town into her dream decorated land.
This episode explained the theory of why this series initially had the theme of a 60’s monochrome Sitcom with a Live Audience. If you see the episode, the only happy moment in her life was that in Sokovia when young Wanda spent her time with her family watching a similar sitcom until war destroyed her home. That was very interesting & acceptable if you are following the Universe from start. It proved again that the writers of Marvel Studios are intellects– they always manage to reshape their stories wholly & completely.
In the end, Wanda is finally announced as ‘The Scarlet Witch’.
A Staggering Credit
The credit of episode 8 showed a ‘White Vision’ in S.W.O.R.D headquarter that totally shocked me & pushed me to new questions, to be honest. The new frosty & lifeless look of Vision is actually lifeless. He is recreated by the counter-terrorism organization, S.W.O.R.D from the disassembled parts of the original Vision, after getting killed by Thanos.
The White Vision is just the physical embodiment of the original Vision, just heartless. This means he won’t remember any of the emotional attachments with Wanda or that he was an Avengers. He is now just a catastrophic weapon that is about to walk out of S.W.O.R.D tent.
Now another question arises. Is this the ‘Vision’ that Ultron aspired to create as a mass destruction machine?
What To Expect Next in WandaVision
WandaVision finale could be brutal as when Wanda will meet this new Vision, she won’t see ‘her lovable husband’ that has been brought back to life. There could be more heartbreak for already traumatized Wanda. Maybe in the finale, we will see that the twins of Wanda are also an imagination- just a matter of time now. We can expect to see cool fight scenes between our new guy & Wanda in Westview. Maybe there will be little or more of Proton (Monica Rambeau) too.
WandaVision is currently available on Disney+ & Disney+ Hotstar. Catch the finale on 5th March, Friday.
