WandaVision miniseries that initially started with light 60’s sitcom-themed episodes gained excellent ratings on IMDB. The show that started on a totally unpredictable story is now making the audience crazy with its outstanding expositions & twists. It started with the happy life of Wanda Maximoff & Vision as a newly moved couple & living their everyday adventures in their new neighborhood. The audience enjoyed the episodes but everything was leading to new questions in each episode. Why a sitcom theme in the Marvel Universe? How a dead guy is taken so normally in the story? What the hell is happening in this series? WandaVision episode 3
Then from WandaVision episode 3 & since things got very interesting as the audience was able to grasp the facts of the story. Now the past few episodes were exhilarating as a lot happened for the viewers to digest. As far as now we have more than one Visions in this Universe. Anyway, there will be SPOILERS as you read along so watch till WandaVision episode 8 on Disney+ & Disney+ Hotstar before you read this.
[SPOILER ALERT]
The Different Visions
The Vision that we saw in Avengers: Age of Ultron, created by Ultron with Jarvis & given life by the powerful Mind Stone. He was one of the most powerful Avengers as he was the first to lift Mjolnir. The only vibranium synthezoid being in the room. So he died in Avengers: Infinity War by Thanos.
Now the first question when WandaVision released was what is he doing here. Well, the Vision we see in WandaVision is the reanimated embodiment of Wanda that exists inside the hex- revealed in WandaVision episode 8. Is he the same powerful Avenger that we know of? Well if you have seen WandaVision this far then you know that he didn’t survive when he tried to force himself out of the hex. From episode 8 now it is clear that since he is recreated by Wanda he exists only inside her makeshift Westview town. And his actual living physical form does not exist on earth hence, didn’t survive outside the hex.
His being a reanimation by Wanda is also proof that when he heard from Agatha about ‘Avengers’ & his death, he couldn’t remember it. The same goes for her twins and it is likely that in the WandaVision finale we will get to see them diminish if the hex is destroyed.
Where is the real Vision?
We all have seen the horrific scene from Avengers: Infinity War when Wanda extracted the Mind Stone from Vision’s forehead & destroyed it, in turn killing Vision.
But Thanos then reversed time, brought him back alive & then again killed it brutally. After that, we didn’t know what happened to him. In WandaVision episode 9, we see Vision’s lifeless disassembled form in top-secret S.W.O.R.D headquarter where Wanda visited in grief. So till now, we saw two existence of Vision.
Who is White Vision?
White Vision first appeared in WandaVision‘s story: John Byrne’s Vision Quest (1989).
Basically, he is the ‘New Ultron’ you can say. What Ultron had as ‘the idea of Vision’ this new one might fit it. The new Vision is created from the disassembled parts by S.W.O.R.D in order to bring down this madness of Wanda. No heart, no stone- just a cold, killing machine. Gone are the days when Vision besides being powerful, was a warm & compassionate being who was capable of feelings & emotions. This White Vision looks more like Silver Surfer to me. Bringing him back could not restore everything that lost; both for Wanda & now the S.W.O.R.D. Ultimately, the decision of bringing back a fake Vision is arguably more tragic for Wanda than bringing Vision back as the white, emotionless body that wouldn’t have fit with Wanda’s fake reality. The fact that she brings him back with her magic to live a dream only to lose him again is even more heartbreaking. And it will be more saddening for the fans.
In the finale, fans will be excited to see a ‘White Vision vs Vision’ scene; it will be so invigorating.
WandaVision episode 9 finale will be available on March 5 on Disney+ & Disney+ Hotstar.
