After a long period of waiting Zack Snyder’s The Justice League trailer released on 14th February & fans are going crazy. It is something that DC fans have never seen before in Justice League (2017). Also called ‘Josstice League’ because of Joss Whedon’s horrible direction, who also directed The Avengers (2012). What initially thought to be a hoax is now a complete movie that will be releasing in HBO Max on 18th March, 2021. Josstice League is a distant nightmare now.. This trailer has become the second most viewed WB trailer ever in the first 24 hours with 24.9M across. It beat The Batman with 22M views & Dune with 20.8M views. Initially it was behind Godzilla vs. Kong but recent update says that JL has 3.5M+ views in Twitter compared to the former’s 2.5M+. Zack Snyder Justice league trailer.
What To Expect
The teaser & now the trailer has launched in 4:4 aspect ratio & I’m doubtful if the movie would also be in the same ratio. Nobody knows it till now. But anyway the trailer looks super cool & its like any DC fans’ dream come true. The scenes are aesthetic, the colors are classic DC dark & so many new scenes- feels like a completely new movie. It has such powerful visuals and actions & the look & feel is extremely cold & dark- all thanks to Zack Snyder’s personal style that we’ve previously seen in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Trailer Breakdown
The trailer starts with a Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice scene when superman was killed by Doomsday with that thorn. The trailer shows air wave coming out & going far distant as he roars in pain. So hope that will lead to some cause in the story or else why would they show that scene right?
The Steppenwolf looks deadlier than the one in the 2017 released movie. The Steppenwolf without the head armor looks like an apocalyptic being from another world. And he has hot a spikey armor too.
The action scenes when he attacks Themyscira- the fight scenes seems similar just the old guy cleanly replaced with this new one. Unlike the previous one whose attitude was more like a goofy villain this one looks more polished & a guy with authority. We saw a glimpse of Darkseid who definitely looked more catastrophic than violet Thanos we saw in previous Avengers credit scenes (the new one was realistic though). Darkseid is seen with his entire dynasty & his army of Parademons. So yeah we are excited to see Darkseid in the movie- Justice League’s worst nemesis who will bring the end of worlds.
Most Applaudable Scenes
Now lets talk about the two most exciting things we saw in this trailer.
Firstly the Black Superman throughout the entire trailer. When Justice League (2017) was initially under production the vision of Zack Snyder was shared online of black costume Superman in the movie. Many behind the scenes photos were also released showing Henry Cavill wearing black suit.
But since audience didn’t get to see that in the movie, question arose if that was real or photoshopped. But now since this is Snyder’s own film we can finally enjoy all his plans he had for JL. A shining, pitch black Superman with glowing red eyes as he shoots heat vision is heavenly satisfying. And yes we are excited to see the reason behind this black suit.
And Secondly, Batman & the Joker. We see Batman in the BvS Nightmare suit in Batman vs Superman dystopian dreamscape, that features a dustbowl Metropolitan ruled by an evil Superman. Joker sitting on a car (maybe) saying – “We live in a society where honor is a distant memory. Isn’t that right Batman?” and as he turns, the screen goes black. The Joker’s appearance seems justified similar to the new joker apperance release last week – white face, red smudged lips & no forehead tattoos; a more traumatized Joker.
Zack Snyder’s version of Joker seems like Jared Leto’s character will get justified and knowing the terrific actor he is, he deserves this. Snyder is basically paving the path for a proper Joker for future DCEU movies where there are still chances for the directors of DC to present him properly.
This trailer saw lot of old action scenes with lot of new scenes & the movie is expected to be 4 hours long. There will be more history of Flash & Cyborg who are critical members of Justice League. Also here Cyborg looked more confident & powerful in his apperance than his previous film.
Although the trailer got us excited for the 4 hour film but who knows what will happen. A 4 hour film means lot of responsibility on Zack Snyder’s shoulder. Never before had it happen to a movie that its made & released again after once it already released worldwide. Lets just hope it works. The age of Heroes has finally come.
